Hey there! Holly here from Club Crafted again with a few easy breakfast smoothie popsicles that will make your mornings feel like a treat.
When you’re in a hurry in the mornings, making a smoothie is a great on-the-go breakfast, BUT that means you still need to spend time making a smoothie. For the extra rushed mornings, you could just grab a popsicle out of the freezer instead and it’s just as delicious as a smoothie with ingredients you need to start your day off on the right foot. Plus, it makes you feel like you’re getting a treat first thing in the morning!
Berry Avocado Popsicles
Adding avocado to smoothies, especially strong mixes like berries, makes the mixture extra creamy and adds much-needed nutrients without any noticeable taste. Because the mixture of strawberries, raspberries and blackberries is strong enough to overpower other flavors, I also use coconut water as the liquid ingredient, which you also cannot taste once blended.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups frozen or fresh berries
- 1 avocado
- 1 cup coconut water or fruit juice
To start, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth, adding more liquid as needed. Pour into a popsicle mold, tap on counter to distribute well, add sticks and freeze for about 6 hours.
Strawberry Banana Popsicles
This is my personal favorite because I love classic strawberry banana smoothies. Use your favorite fruit juice and fresh or frozen fruit for a deliciously classic flavor. You simply want to avoid using juices high in sugar for healthier popsicles.
Ingredients:
- 1 banana, frozen or fresh
- 1 cup strawberries, frozen or fresh
- 1 cup orange juice or other fruit juice
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth, adding more liquid as needed. Pour into a popsicle mold, tap on counter to distribute well, add sticks and freeze for about 6 hours.
Mango Yogurt Popsicles
With this recipe, plain or flavored Greek yogurt adds extra nutrients and makes the smoothie extra creamy. I use coconut water because the mango and yogurt flavor overpowers it, but you can use any of your favorite fruit juice – just avoid sugary juices.
Ingredients:
- 1 mango, fresh or frozen
- 1 cup plain or flavored Greek yogurt
- 1 cup coconut water
Begin by combining all ingredients in a blender and blend until completely smooth, adding more liquid as needed. Pour into a popsicle mold, tap on counter to distribute well, add sticks and freeze for about 6 hours.
Once the popsicles are frozen, you can remove them from the mold and store in a plastic Ziplock bag in the freezer if you want to use the mold to prepare more popsicles. This is probably easiest so that you don’t have to fuss with removing them from a mold every morning. Enjoy these on-the-go, and you’ll feel like you’re getting a treat for breakfast every day!
